Growing Into Her Power: Bri’Nyah’s Strong, Smart, Bold Story
Bri’Nyah has grown up with Girls Inc. of Greater Miami. She first stepped into our Strong Girls afterschool program in 2018 as a quiet, thoughtful elementary student who observed more than she spoke. Over the years, she’s built deep relationships, developed her voice, and discovered a version of herself that feels vibrant, confident, and fully capable of leading. This year, as a current participant in both Strong Girls and the Power Hour x Coca-Cola FC Academy program, her growth is unmistakable. She’s stepping into new spaces with boldness, strengthening her people skills, and showing what it looks like when a girl claims her place as a leader.
In her own words, Bri’Nyah shares just how far she’s come.
“Girls Inc. has shaped my people skills in such a big way. When I was younger, in Strong Girls and especially Ms. Maldonado, helped me break out of my shy, quiet shell and become the outgoing person I am today. This year, I’m really seeing those lessons show up in my life. I feel my confidence continuing to grow, and I’m proud of how much more open, bold, and connected I’ve become.”
Those early years in Strong Girls created a foundation of care, courage, and community — a space where she could practice using her voice and test her leadership in real ways. Today, that foundation continues to expand through Power Hour and the Coca-Cola FC Academy, two programs designed to create access to opportunities, deepen leadership skills, and equip girls with tools they can carry into school, future careers, and their communities.
As Bri’Nyah shares, the impact of that continued growth is something she can feel — and also something she can point to.
“This year, Girls Inc. is helping me build even stronger people skills and real leadership experience. Being part of Power Hour and the Coca-Cola FC Academy program gives me something I can point to that shows how much I’ve grown. It’s an amazing opportunity to keep learning, meet new people, and stay involved with Girls Inc. in a meaningful way.”
Her story reflects what happens when girls have consistent access to mentors who see their potential, programs that challenge them to lead, and a community where their strengths are honored. Bri’Nyah’s journey isn’t about becoming someone new — it’s about embracing who she has always been: a strong, smart, and bold young leader shaping her world with confidence, connection, and purpose.
Girls Inc. of Greater Miami is proud to walk alongside her as she continues to grow, take up space, and use her voice. Her leadership isn’t emerging — it’s expanding. And Greater Miami is stronger because of it.
