Finding Her Voice, Leading With Purpose: Aubrey’s Bold Journey

When Aubrey first joined Bold Voices, she stayed close to her friends and rarely stepped outside her comfort zone. She has shared that she struggled with social anxiety and often felt unsure about speaking in front of others. Raising her hand felt intimidating. Sharing her opinion felt overwhelming.

But Aubrey kept showing up.

With each session, she began taking small steps forward. She practiced speaking in smaller groups. She volunteered to read aloud. She listened closely to others and slowly began contributing her own ideas. Over time, those small steps became confident strides.

Today, Aubrey is more focused, more vocal, and more assured in her leadership. She contributes thoughtfully in discussions and encourages others to participate. She models preparation, curiosity, and resilience.

She is currently developing an informative speech on Haiti, researching the island’s history, culture, and present-day challenges. Beyond presenting information, Aubrey is building an action plan focused on ways young people can support communities in Haiti. What started as a classroom assignment has become a meaningful leadership project rooted in awareness and responsibility.

Aubrey wants everyone to know that Girls Inc. inspired her to use her voice. What once felt like fear has transformed into purpose. She is no longer standing in the background. She is standing at the front, speaking clearly and leading by example.

Her journey reflects what happens when girls are given consistent opportunities to grow, practice, and rise.
